Fire Safety Signs

Regardless of how well-maintained a commercial property is, there’s always a chance a fire could strike at any given moment. For this reason, the presence of fire safety signs is required for commercial and public facilities.

Fire signs include equipment signs identifying the name or location of on-site equipment like fire extinguishers; emergency fire escape signs; or maps displaying an emergency evacuation route. Fire safety signs can also be used to prevent fires, like reminding guests not to smoke on the premises or to be cautious around flammable materials.

Mandatory Signs

Mandatory signs are commonly placed in work environments and public places to give orders to employees or visitors on how to stay safe. While these signs can’t guarantee guests will do the right thing, they can reduce the odds of unsafe behavior and diminish the liability on the business or public place in case something does occur.

Common mandatory signs include personal protective equipment signs, equipment operation guidelines, signs reminding one to wash their hands, and reminders to keep the door shut when equipment is in use.

Emergency Information Signs

When an emergency strikes, it can be difficult to form the right judgment and remember how to engage in the necessary procedure. This is especially true since true medical and natural emergencies aren’t super common, with many people not sure how to react or what to do. This is where emergency information signs play a critical role.

Emergency information signs can protect those on your property by providing critical information, like guiding one to the nearest exit, giving them evacuation directions, pointing out the location of first aid kits, or even explaining how to give CPR or do the Heimlich maneuver on someone.

Hazard Signs

Just about any building or public place has some sort of hazard present. For this reason, many facilities have hazard signs to warn people about possible dangers on site, and in some cases, how to avoid them.

Examples of hazards a hazard sign might warn about include flammable materials, hot surfaces, electrical shock risks, toxic materials, radiation, slippery surfaces, trip/fall hazards, or gas under pressure.

Traffic Signs

Traffic signs aren’t just used on the streets. They can also come in handy in parking lots. Use them to help swiftly guide traffic through your lot to prevent cars from backing up. You can also warn drivers about where not to park, show where handicap parking is located, or communicate the rules and regulations of your lot.

Examples of traffic signs relevant for parking lots include reserved parking signs, do not enter signs, pedestrian crossing signs, stop signs, no parking signs, and compact cars only signs.
